Healthcare eligibility requirements are posted on the University Human Resources website for full-time and part-time staff members.
Classified and university staff and faculty are eligible for the UVa Health Plan (high or low premium). Research Associates (post docs) are eligible for the Post Doctoral Health Insurance Plan. All plans currently include dental and prescription coverage.

Unused Leave
University Staff: Cash-out payments may be available to university staff for unused annual leave, please contact Human Resources for more information.Employees can also donate their unused leave through the Leave Sharing program, by completing the Leave Sharing Donor Application
Classified Staff: Carryout/payment may be available to classified staff for unused leave. Leave Sharing is also available to classified staff. - Comp & Comp Special Leave hours are awarded to all employees by UVa and/or the Governor. Additional hours can be earned for overtime work when approved by supervisor.
- Recognition Leave - University management may provide employees monetary and non-monetary awards and/or recognition leave (up to 5 workdays) to recognize achievements or accomplishments that contribute to the overall objectives of the University. Please note the UHR request form includes University staff, though the policy does not.

Civil and Work-Related Leave provides paid leave for employees to appear in court, to serve on state councils, to resolve work related conflicts, to attend administrative hearings, and to interview for other University positions as well as jobs in other State agencies.

- Over 40,000 video recordings and more than 10,000 DVDs may be checked out for 7 days (2 at a time) and are located in Clemons Library Third Floor. Items can be renewed for one additional week
- Over 35,000 audio recordings, including more than 20,000 CDs may be checked out for one semester and are located in the Music Library in Old Cabell Hall

The University may elect to offer reimbursement of certain relocation expenses for salaried faculty and university staff hires up to the limits established in the University's Moving and Relocation Policy (https://policy.itc.virginia.edu/policy/policydisplay?id=FIN-013). To be compensated for moving and relocation expenses, an employee must enter into a Moving Agreement with the University prior to receiving any reimbursements.
- UVa Retirement Program - Faculty and managerial & professional university staff have a choice between Virginia Retirement System (VRS) or the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP). The choice once made is irrevocable. Classified staff, administrative & operational University staff and professional research staff participate in VRS.

Lunch Well.Choose Well.Choose Well is an educational and interactive program sponsored by Athem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to help state employees understand and apply basic nutrition principles to their lunch planning each day for optimal health.
Lunch Classes by WorkMed - Hourly classes will be offered throughout the year that focus on nutritional issues. Topics such as healthy eating, shopping healthy, and preparing easy and healthy meals may be discussed by nutritional counselors. A healthy lunch will be provided to class participants.
