Guinn provides administrative support to the Vice Provost for the Arts Jody Kielbasa and the Vice Provost for Academic Outreach Louis Nelson. She manages both vice provosts’ scheduling and assists with specific events and initiatives for their offices.

UVA's ROTC Program

The Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) program is one of UVA's most important public service opportunities. ROTC prepares students to become future leaders who serve and give back to their communities and country.

Course enrichment grants

In an effort to encourage long-term reciprocal partnerships between UVA faculty, students, and community partners, the RPE program is offering $2,000 grants to support courses that include a strong element of community engagement. Faculty members are encouraged to apply for funding to support courses that deploy place-based and community-based learning.

These grants are available on a rolling as-needed basis. Faculty may apply for an initial $2,000 award as well as support for two additional iterations of the course at the same funding level.

Public Service Pathways Student Advisory Council

Aligned with the University’s commitment to student self-governance, the Pathway’s Student Advisory Council is an intentional effort on behalf of University leaders to include students in the dialogue surrounding the implementation of the Public Service Pathways program. This Council, composed of 12 undergraduate students from across Grounds, is responsible for supporting Pathway leadership in achieving their intended programmatic purpose through thoughtful ideation and implementation of programming.

Spring 2023 Call for Applications - Deadline April 28

UVA has been awarded a three-year, $5 million grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to build equity-minded, place-based educational and post-doctoral programs. In support of these goals, the Office of Academic Outreach and the Mellon Race, Place, and Equity Program invite faculty members engaged in place-based and community-engaged work to apply for a $4,000 Course Development Grant.
