Generative AI (GENAI) in Teaching and Learning
Resources related to the role and use of generative AI in teaching and learning at the University are available on the Provost’s Office GenAI page. These include FAQs for faculty and students about the use of this technology, as well as resources – developed or curated by UVA faculty – designed to enable instructors to make informed decisions about whether to permit its use by students and whether (and how) to incorporate it into their teaching. The Provost’s Office GenAI page also includes information about the Faculty AI Guides program, in which faculty members undergo training about this technology as it relates to teaching and learning, share their knowledge with colleagues through informal workshops or presentations, and serve as ongoing resources for their colleagues.
Information on licensed generative AI tools available for use at the University is found on the UVA Information Technology Services website. The UVA ITS website also includes Responsible Use Guidelines and Terms of Use for generative AI tools at the University
