Student and GME Trainee International Travel
Reflective of the University’s global culture, the International Studies Office facilitates over 3,000 students traveling outside the United States for University-related purposes each year. The policy Student and Graduate Medical Education Trainee International Travel governs all student and Graduate Medical Education (GME) trainee international travel for “University-related purposes” as defined therein. Faculty members should be aware that the University restricts student and GME trainee travel to countries under a travel warning issued by either the U.S. Department of State or the Centers for Disease Control and may issue additional travel restrictions. For the current list of such warnings and restrictions, see Travel Alerts, Notices & Warnings, maintained by the International Studies Office.
For regulations and procedures related to faculty international travel, please refer to the policy Faculty and Staff International Travel, which also covers staff, Senior Professional Research Staff, and all postdocs.
