Jason Nabi

Jason is the Project Manager for UVA’s Futures Initiative. He also coordinates special projects for Phil Bourne (Dean of the School of Data Science), such as the Collaborative Cultures Project and the Open Science Working Group.

Jason is the Project Manager for UVA’s Futures Initiative. He also coordinates special projects for Phil Bourne (Dean of the School of Data Science), such as the Collaborative Cultures Project and the Open Science Working Group.

Prior to joining on in this role, Jason served as an administrator and educator at the college and high-school levels for more than 20 years. Most recently, he was a Lecturer for UVA’s Writing and Rhetoric Program, for which he taught courses in composition, critical inquiry, and public speaking. Before this, he was the Director of Academics and Faculty, as well as the English Department Chair, at the Miller School of Albemarle.

Jason’s primary background in academics and in educational administration is complemented by diverse experiences in project and operations management. Before grad school, he worked as an editor and project manager at a medical publishing company in New York City. More recently, he was the co-owner and operations manager of Alight Flower Farm, a four-acre cut-flower operation in central Virginia.

Jason lives with his wife Liz and son Thomas, in Keswick, Virginia. He enjoys swimming and working on the farm.
