Jenny Mikulski

As Faculty Actions Specialist, Jenny prepares personnel actions for Board of Visitors approval, coordinating those workflows with all schools. she designs reference materials for the Faculty Affairs toolkit, manages a monthly University-wide meeting of Faculty Affairs administrators, and tracks endowed professorships, including those funded by the University’s Bicentennial Strategic Initiative.

As Faculty Actions Specialist, Jenny prepares personnel actions for Board of Visitors approval, coordinating those workflows with all schools. As the Special Assistant for Administrative Operations, she designs reference materials for the Faculty Affairs toolkit, manages a monthly University-wide meeting of Faculty Affairs administrators, and tracks endowed professorships, including those funded by the University’s Bicentennial Strategic Initiative. Jenny also compiles the annual booklet honoring retiring faculty emeriti. A member of the EVPP Internal Policy Team, she provides insights on how policies are implemented procedurally and how they impact transactional work across UVA. Jenny holds a B.A. in English and American Studies from Tufts University, and an M.L.A. from Cornell University; she worked part-time in central academic administration while a graduate student. She relocated to Charlottesville in 2006 to join a private historical landscape planning firm, for which she worked on campus preservation plans and cultural landscape reports nationwide for three years. Jenny joined the Provost’s Office in 2011, applying those skills in project management, complex reports, and databases ever since, and has continued her education by earning a Design Thinking & Innovation Executive Certificate with Darden and studying archive management with Johns Hopkins Advanced Academic Programs. In 2019, Jenny purchased a 100-year-old home in Charlottesville in the Carlton neighborhood near Woolen Mill and is involved in projects in her neighborhood, including Broadway Economic Development and Rivanna Pedestrian Bridge planning. You might find her painting outdoors somewhere along the Rivanna River.
