The COACHE Faculty Job Satisfaction Survey provides actionable data about the conditions–the environment, policies, and practices–that support faculty doing their best work. Learn more about survey topics and format on the COACHE website.

UVA has administered the COACHE Faculty Job Satisfaction Survey every three to four years since its inception. Knowing our results allows us to gauge the areas where we are improving and where the University needs to devote attention. Information about the 2016 and 2020 COACHE surveys and the actions that followed is available at Previous COACHE Findings.

In February 2024, all full-time salaried teaching and research faculty (Tenured, Tenure-track, and General) who have worked at UVA for at least one year, except for faculty in the School of Medicine and senior academic administrators (deans and associate deans) will receive the COACHE survey via email. The School of Medicine solicits input from its faculty on related topics through the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) StandPoint survey. More information is available on the School of Medicine website.

The COACHE survey will close in April, and UVA will receive a report in summer 2024.  The results will be analyzed and made available online in the fall.
