New Faculty and Candidate Resources

Affectionately dubbed "C'ville" by its residents, Charlottesville is consistently proclaimed to be one of the most livable cities in the country. Located in the rolling foothills of the historic Blue Ridge Mountains, Charlottesville offers the ambience and friendliness of a small town with many of the cultural, educational, and professional advantages of a much larger metropolitan area.

Why Charlottesville
Charlottesville is more than a place to live; it’s a place to call home. Nestled in Central Virginia, just east of the Blue Ridge Mountains, residents enjoy endless natural beauty with amenities and cultural attractions of a large metropolis.

Dual Career Program
Each year, hundreds of professionals relocate to the Charlottesville area to further their careers. Many of these individuals relocate with spouses and partners who are also seeking to identify their next opportunity here. The UVA Dual Career Program (DCP) provides services for spouses and partners of benefited UVA faculty and staff.

The UVA Dual Career Program introduces Embark, a new community resource to connect highly skilled talent with local employers.
